Mometu announces the return of its highly anticipated annual film festival
Mometu, the free video-on-demand and live TV streaming platform, is proud to announce the return of its annual College Film Festival, now in its third year. Building on last year’s success, which saw participation from 38 colleges and universities, this year’s festival aims for even greater representation, inviting student filmmakers across North America to submit their projects for consideration.
The festival invites submissions in seven diverse categories:
- Best Drama
- Best Horror/Thriller/Sci-Fi
- Best Comedy
- Best Documentary
- Best Black Cinema
- Best Foreign Language
- Best Potential Series Pilot
Celebrating creativity and innovation, the festival provides a launchpad for the next wave of filmmaking talent.
Finalists will see their work streamed on Mometu’s platform, with category winners earning cash prizes, festival laurels, and a distribution offer. Top honors include Best Picture, alongside Producer’s Pick and Audience Award winners.

The submission deadline is May 25, 2025, with finalists announced on May 30, 2025. The festival kicks off on June 1, culminating in an awards ceremony on July 26, 2025, in Los Angeles.
