Mometu and V Channels Partner on Three-Film Deal

Mar 5, 2024

Collaboration will see independent horror films released on the streaming platform

Mometu, a free video-on-demand and live TV streaming service, has partnered with global content network V Channels to distribute a package of independent horror features.

The three-film deal will see gnarly horror titles Stupid Games, Bittertooth and The Box headed to the free indie streaming platform.

The first in the slate to land on Mometu will be Stupid Games, directed by Nicolas Wendl and Dani Abraham, starring Cass Huckabay, Alyssa Tortomasi, Saad Rolando, Grant Terzakis, Gage Robinson, Ashwini Ganpule, and Larsen Deane. Executive producers are James Cullen Bessack, Mario Niccolo Messina, and Valentina Cau. The film follows a group of friends who unknowingly unleash a malevolent force in a dinner party gone wrong.

The second project, Bittertooth, helmed by Monte Light, stars Helene Udy, Matthew De Vine, Autumn Ivy, Genevieve Thomas, Justin Michael Terry, Michaela Ivey, and Joe Altieri. The movie sees two true-crime podcasters track down a serial killer in an act of vigilantism that leads to a bloody, shocking revelation.

The final feature, The Box, comes from director Emanuele Pica and stars Christy St. John, Bryan Scamman, James McCoy, Natalie Porretta, Chiyeko Jones, Drew Crocker, Paulina Aguirre, and Anna Koroknyai. The story follows a CEO who must answer for his crimes and accept a series of horrific punishments.

Speaking on the partnership, Bryan Louzil, VP of Business Development for Mometu, said: “We leapt at the opportunity to work with V Channels to bring this collection of stellar horrors to Mometu audiences. We have long advocated for emerging artists and independent projects and are eager to showcase these bold stories in what we hope is the start of a lasting relationship.”

V Channels CEO Mario Niccolo Messina added: “At a time when the independent filmmaking industry continues to face an uncertain and challenging future, Mometu has come into the picture offering the indie community an all-encompassing platform that can host, showcase and provide visibility to their works. Mometu is the right indie service at the right time, and I am confident it  will emerge as an important new hub for independent entertainment.”
