Free streaming platform adds festival favorites, cult classics, and award-winning Korean films as U.S. demand for K-content continues to surge
Free streaming platform Mometu has expanded its rapidly growing catalog of Korean cinema, this week rolling out a fresh slate of critically acclaimed films.
Leading the new additions is Kim Ki-duk’s The Isle, the provocative festival standout that cemented the late filmmaker as a defining voice of Korean arthouse cinema. Also joining the lineup is crime thriller Beasts Clawing at Straws, featuring Academy Award winner Youn Yuh-jung, and recently-released action drama The Firefighters.
The latest acquisitions build on Mometu’s existing Korean collection, which already includes critically-acclaimed crime drama The Policeman’s Lineage starring Choi Woo-sik (Parasite, Train to Busan), beloved indie dramedy Lucky Chan-sil—also featuring Youn Yuh-jung—and cult gems such as An Experience to Die For and the rediscovered horror favorite Suddenly in the Dark.
