Introducing the Mometu Short Film Contest (MSFC), a fresh and creative competition on the free streaming platform Mometu.

This event is designed to not only spotlight your short film but also bring forward a sense of community and ignite some friendly competition among fellow filmmakers.

And for one lucky winner, a spectacular prize awaits.

Be aware—this is not just another film festival.

Contest Details

• This is a month-long contest for short films only, with a maximum of 100 entries selected
• All films will be placed onto Mometu’s streaming service which can be found on almost all streaming devices, smart TVs, mobile devices, and web, and is available for free with no subscription needed
• Each week the field will be cut in half going from 100 to 50 to 25 and finishing with a top 10
• Judging for the first three weeks will be based on a verified external voting system (50%) as well as overall metrics (50%) including viewership, watch time, and completion rate pulled from Mometu’s streaming service
• The final week will see an esteemed panel of judges grading the top 10 films for 50% of the weighted vote, with the remaining 50% split between the overall metrics and voting mentioned above
• Every Sunday, the votes and overall metrics from that week will be tallied, and then reset for the next week as the competition narrows down
• The official winner will be announced on Mometu’s social accounts (@freemometu) and will include a grand prize of $5000, one (1) round trip plane ticket for the continental United States, and a licensing offer from Mometu to remain on the platform

Rules

• Films must be submitted for consideration no later than November 1, 2024
• Films must be between 10 and 30 minutes in duration to be considered for selection
• Only one film per filmmaker will be considered for selection
• Films being considered must have a release date between 2022 and 2024
• Selected films must complete our contest agreement to be officially selected
• Notifications will be sent by November 10, 2024 and contest agreement must be turned in no later than November 13, 2024
• Mometu holds the sole discretion on which films will be selected and at no time will need to supply a reason for any films not selected into the contest
• Voting will take place on a platform hosted by Launchpad6 and Mometu will not be held accountable for any voting errors should they occur for any reason
• Selected films will still be made available on the Sundays when votes and metrics are counted
